The MTCGC is a small model train club (limited number of memberships available – contact us via our email link or talk to a member at our displays) whose members enjoy taking the hobby out to the public for displays.
We model in H0/00, H0e, N, and G, attending shows in Brisbane, Toowoomba, Mt Gravatt, Caloundra, Murwillumbah and other locals.
In 2010 we held our own model train show on the Gold Coast at the Ashmore PCYC for the first time which was a great success. We followed that up in 2011 with an even more successful show that more than doubled the number of visitors and ranked us as the biggest regional model train show in South East Queensland that year! We hope to emulate that success again in 2017 on the weekend of the 28th and 29th October at the Carrara Indoor Sports Centre.
Our members are a friendly lot, so if you want to know a bit about the history or workings of trains, the hobby, making a layout, wiring a train set, or ‘scenics’ (the lifelike looking grasses, scrub, trees, buildings, etc.), then feel free to have a chat with us. For the technical stuff, if the member you are speaking to doesn’t know about what you are asking, you’ll surely be pointed to someone that does.
Contact our Secretary via email below or click on the button below to download an MTCGC application form. You will also be required to join the NMRA-AR.
